Background
Smith and stoneworker, combat-seasoned. Thoric knew that dwarven intelligence about Velyra's trap existed — his clan decided “not our concern” and let it happen. Thoric left the clan when his attempts to move them to act failed.
He is the direct opposite of the dwarven guilt (indifference / complicity): he wanted to act and was prevented from doing so. This history lays the foundation for Cindeya's trust — he is living proof that not all dwarves looked away.
- Dual Function — MC Template + Companion: As a dwarf MC, the player takes over Thoric's slot + backstory (name selectable). Knowledge trigger: the connection to the trap “dawns” once Althaea becomes a topic of conversation (from St.3 onward) — the MC links the trap to this very family. Learning and deciding nearly coincide.
Nature & Resonance
“Mountain meets Earth.” Dwarves = mountain folk, Cindeya = Earth element — a natural affinity. Shared core principle: trust is earned, not given. Thoric is taciturn, steadfast, wary of strangers himself. He understands Cindeya's initial distrust because he is the same way — it does not make him fail.
That is why dwarf is the easier build with Cindeya: nothing needs explaining, only a shared nature.
Romance Track (2 Scenes)
- ① Reliability: Each holds fast for the other when it counts — no words, only deeds. — Arc: Distrust
- ② The Lock: Quiet, final. Fits Cindeya's Earth nature: once Cindeya decides, it cannot be lost. — Arc: Distrust → Rock
- Mortality Core: Medium gap (~180–350 dwarven lifespan vs. ~500 Cindeya). Farewell on the horizon, not imminently looming. Less acute than Bran's track, deeper than Vaelan's parity.
